Rules to futbol Soccer, once defined by man as 22 players chasing a ball filled with air, is much more than he thinks. Soccer brings the world together in a unique way. Everyone is waiting for that one spectacular, special moment in the game. Filled with intensity and tactics, soccer is an art, a masterpiece created by geniuses. More commonly known throughout the world as football, or futbol, players must show years of experience to display an amazing game. There are eleven people from each team on the pitch, or field at times. Without the use of hands, the main objectives are score and obtain the most points. The only people that can touch the ball with their hands are the goalie, or keeper. Once the goal keeper gains possession, he has six second to punt or throw the ball. Other than goalie, there are three other positions, forward, midfielder, and defense. The forwards mostly stay close to the half line and on the opponents side of the field. The midfielders have it tough because they have to run up and down the field, playing defense and offense. The defensive position is self-explanatory, defend your goal. A foul is when you take down another player or get overly aggressive. When a foul occurs, the team that got fouled gains possessions and gets a free kick. If a foul happens in the 18 yard box, it is a penalty, in which it is an open shot at the goalie from a certain distance. If the ball is kicked out of bounds on the sides of the field, it is a throw in. If the ball gets kicked out at the base line, it is a goal kick, on which the ball is placed on the six yard line and is booted down field. These rules should be sufficient enough to allow you to actually play. Thank you for taking the time and learning the rules of futbol, the most played sport world wide. By Tomas
